WE CARE Neighors Initiative

The second strategy is the WE CARE Neighbor Initiative. Once you join the WE CARE Partner Team, you have the opportunity to become a WE CARE Neighbor volunteer.  WE CARE Neighbors work to connect with their neighbors and to connect neighbors to each other.

Many of us remember growing up in a neighborhood where we knew almost everyone and we felt safe and cared for.  For too many of us this is no longer the case. When we do not know our neighbors, isolation, crime, and mistrust increase.

WE CARE Palestine believes that friendships with our neighbors must be intentionally developed and nurtured. The WE CARE Neighbor Initiative helps facilitate neighbors to become caring friends—respecting, talking and walking together.

WE CARE Palestine is seeking citizens all across the Greater Palestine area who are willing to reach out on the block or in the area where they live to serve as WE CARE Neighbors and forge relationships that are more than a passing wave or neighborly hello. These WE CARE Neighbors receive training and support to build friendships.They join with other WE CARE Neighbors from across the city on a quarterly basis to develop relationships with individuals/famillies across the Greater Palestine area.
